Spiderhead (2022)

Spiderhead takes a deliciously high-concept idea—what if a prison could chemically “edit” your feelings—and turns it into a sleek, nerve-tight thriller that’s as funny as it is unsettling. Joseph Kosinski stages the whole thing with cool, modern precision, letting the sterile beauty of the facility clash with the messy human fallout, while a punchy soundtrack keeps the vibe perversely buoyant. Chris Hemsworth is terrific as the smiling, swaggering puppet master, and Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett ground the film with performances that make the moral questions hit harder than the twists.
