Explained

What people think about Skylines

Skylines is the rare third entry that doesn’t just keep the lights on—it kicks open the airlock and leans into a bigger, bolder space-adventure swing, with creature effects that are punchier than you’d expect and action that moves like it’s got something to prove. Lindsey Morgan makes a terrific anchor: dry-witted, battle-worn, and convincingly human even when the story pushes into wild sci-fi territory, while the film’s humor and momentum keep the ride brisk instead of self-serious. The vibe is scrappy, energetic, and proudly pulpy—more “Saturday-night genre thrill” than prestige sci-fi—and that’s exactly its charm. If you need immaculate world-building or subtlety, this may not be your ship, but if you want a fast, fun alien-thriller with a surprisingly likable hero at the center, it’s an easy ticket.
