Adèle Exarchopoulos and Gaspard Ulliel add heat and volatility, and the film’s polished visuals make even its most uncomfortable moments feel hypnotically watchable. It’s not for everyone—there’s explicit sex and a candid relapse arc—but if you like adult dramas that are stylish, funny in a sharp way, and unafraid to stare at desire and self-deception, this one lingers.

The problem is it often plays like two or three different movies fighting for control, with chaotic plotting and tonal swerves that can make the intrigue feel more exhausting than illuminating. If you need a clean psychological thriller arc or characters who behave consistently, this will likely frustrate you, and the explicit sex/nudity plus relapse storyline can feel more like agitation than insight depending on your tolerance. Still, Virginie Efira and Adèle Exarchopoulos bring real electricity, and when the film slows down to observe rather than shove, it lands some sharp, uncomfortable truths.
