The Rescue is clearly trying to honor an extraordinary real-life feat by letting the divers and rescuers walk you through what happened, and it succeeds at making the logistics understandable without turning it into cheap melodrama. That said, if you’re hoping for emotional closure or a fuller human portrait, the absence of interviews with the boys and their families can make the experience feel oddly incomplete and a bit clinical.
