Korean War, September 1950. In order to fight the enemy forces based in the South of the peninsula, General MacArthur orders the start of the Incheon Landing Operation, deploying diversionary attacks in other locations. (A sequel to Operation Chromite, released in 2016.)

Explained

What people think about Battle of Jangsari

Battle of Jangsari earns its power by shining a steady, human light on a Korean War story most films overlook, turning a “diversionary attack” into a haunting portrait of courage under impossible odds. It’s both intimate and thunderous: the camaraderie of barely trained student soldiers feels heartbreakingly real, while the beach combat is staged with a gritty intensity that never lets you forget the cost. What lingers isn’t just the action, but the film’s sincere, respectful tribute to young lives asked to become heroes before they’ve even had the chance to be ordinary. If you’re drawn to war dramas that aim for poignancy over triumphalism—and don’t mind a heavy emotional weight—this is a worthy, affecting watch.
