Explained

What people think about The Lovebirds

The Lovebirds is the kind of romantic comedy that spikes its sweetness with pure, frantic momentum: a bickering couple, one very bad night, and a city that keeps throwing fresh chaos at them. Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani make the movie sing, turning every argument into flirtation-by-combat and every close call into another chance to reveal the tenderness underneath the sarcasm. Director Michael Showalter keeps the vibe breezy and absurd, like a screwball date-night gone off the rails, with banter sharp enough to cut through the mayhem. It’s not for everyone if you’re allergic to heightened, implausible comedy or uneasy with raunchy detours and bursts of violence, but if you want a fast, funny ride powered by chemistry, this one’s easy to recommend.
