Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem feels like a jolt of creative electricity—its sketchy, hand-drawn-inspired animation and street-level New York texture make the world look alive, messy, and wonderfully new. What really sells it, though, is how convincingly teenage the brothers are: they’re loud, awkward, hilarious, and oddly heartfelt, with voice performances that sound like real kids riffing rather than actors “doing a bit.” The vibe is a hyperactive, joke-dense action-comedy with just enough sincerity underneath to make you root for these outsiders trying to earn a place in the sunlight. It’s not aimed at viewers who want a darker, more solemn Turtle tale, and some of the mutant imagery gets intense for very young kids—but if you want a fresh, funny reboot that moves like a mixtape and lands like a crowd-pleaser, this one delivers.
