Diana Silvers makes Kimberly’s fear feel lived-in rather than theatrical, while Dermot Mulroney delivers a performance that’s unsettling precisely because it can pass for warmth when you want to believe it. It’s grim and intensely tense, and if you’re sensitive to domestic violence themes or on-screen brutality it may be a tough sit—but if you like horror-thrillers that build mystery into a full-bodied, nerve-jangling payoff, this one earns your time.
