The first World War rages on when a group of American soldiers find a mysterious artifact that can summon the ancient evil of the Krampus. Explained

What people think about Krampus Origins

Krampus Origins has a scrappy, old-fashioned charm: it takes the familiar holiday demon myth and roots it in wartime dread and small-town isolation, giving the story a grim, wintry mood that feels more like a campfire tale than a glossy studio scare-fest. For a low-budget horror film, it’s surprisingly competent in the basics—performances that hold the line, production choices that stretch the resources, and a steady sense of atmosphere that keeps you leaning in. The movie’s pleasures come less from shock-and-awe spectacle and more from the earnest, pulpy fun of watching ordinary people face something ancient and cruel. If you need polished effects or nonstop jolts, it may not be your Krampus, but if you enjoy mythic horror with a rough-hewn, sincere bite, it’s an easy one to put on and let its chill settle in.
