3 from Hell (2019)
After barely surviving a furious shootout with the police, Baby Firefly, Otis Driftwood and Captain Spaulding are behind bars. But pure evil cannot be contained. Teaming up with Otis’ half-brother Winslow, the demented Firefly clan escape to unleash a whole new wave of murder, madness and mayhem.
What people think about 3 from Hell
What makes 3 from Hell special is its unapologetic commitment to Rob Zombie’s grubby, neon-lit grindhouse nightmare—a film that doesn’t try to sanitize evil, but instead traps you in its sweaty, outlaw-after-midnight atmosphere and dares you to keep watching. The movie runs on nasty momentum and offbeat humor, powered by Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley’s feral chemistry, with Richard Brake sliding in like a wicked new spark plug to keep the engine loud and mean. It’s less about tidy morality than pure vibe: sleaze, swagger, and violence staged with the kind of roughhouse energy that feels like a dirty song you can’t get out of your head. Fair warning, it’s absolutely not for the squeamish or anyone allergic to exploitation excess—but if you want a hard-R horror-thriller that doubles down on style and attitude, this one delivers.
3 from Hell is clearly trying to give Rob Zombie’s Firefly saga one last, loud victory lap: grimy outlaw energy, nasty humor, and wall-to-wall carnage for fans who just want to hang out with these monsters again. The problem is it often feels like a remix of The Devil’s Rejects rather than a story with a real reason to exist, with pacing that drifts into filler and set pieces that stretch long after the point is made. If you’re not already invested in the characters and Zombie’s abrasive, sleazy grindhouse vibe, the relentless sadistic violence, sexual content, and mean-spirited tone will feel more exhausting than thrilling. The redeeming qualities are the committed performances (especially Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie) and a few bursts of nasty style, but this is very much for die-hards only.
