Hit-and-Run Squad is the kind of slick, high-octane Korean crime thriller that knows its calling card: speed, attitude, and a cat-and-mouse chase that keeps tightening the screws. Director Han Jun-hee stages the action with a motorsports snap—engines screaming, corners cutting close, and momentum that carries you from one tense pursuit to the next—while grounding it in a satisfying underdog-cop vibe as a demoted ace and a gifted rookie driver find their rhythm. The real jolt comes from Cho Jung-seok, who turns the wealthy speed maniac villain into a charismatic menace you can’t take your eyes off, giving the film a wicked charge whenever he’s on screen. It’s not a deep procedural and it won’t convert you if you don’t care about car-chase cinema, but if you want a fast, punchy ride with strong casting and plenty of kinetic energy, it delivers.

Even with car chases in the toolkit, the film can feel oddly low on momentum, so if you’re expecting wall-to-wall adrenaline, you may find yourself checking the runtime. Still, the cast brings professionalism and a few sequences do deliver, making it a decent pick only if you’re patient with formula and here more for the actors than the thrills.
