Team Darryl is special because it takes the cosmic weirdness of Thor: Ragnarok and shrinks it down to the most gloriously petty battleground imaginable: a roommate situation. It’s a brisk, absurd little comedy that lets Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster weaponize charm, cluelessness, and ego in ways that feel both perfectly in-character and freshly ridiculous, while Darryl’s deadpan normal-guy misery keeps the whole thing grounded. The vibe is light, goofy, and improvisational—more like a sitcom sketch beamed in from outer space than a superhero story—which makes it an easy watch when you want a laugh without a big time commitment. If you’re not into offbeat, low-stakes Marvel humor, it may not convert you, but if Ragnarok’s sillier side made you grin, this is a delightful encore.

Team Darryl is clearly trying to stretch the Thor “roommate” gag into one more low-stakes sitcom sketch, swapping in the Grandmaster for awkward, fish-out-of-water chaos. The problem is the premise is so thin and conveniently illogical that if you’re not already on board with the bit, you’ll feel the writers leaning on a familiar formula rather than landing genuinely sharp jokes. The humor is more hit-and-miss than the earlier shorts, with fewer standout moments and a sense that the novelty has worn off. Still, Jeff Goldblum’s committed weirdness and the breezy runtime make it harmless enough if you just want a quick MCU-flavored chuckle and don’t expect anything deeper or fresher.
