Bunker (2023) takes a familiar World War I setting and compresses it into something uniquely nerve-tightening: a single, captured bunker that feels less like shelter and more like a living trap. Adrian Langley leans hard into claustrophobia and creeping dread, letting the walls, shadows, and silence do as much work as the scares, while the soldiers’ fraying nerves and shifting loyalties give the horror a human pulse. The film’s visual style is grimy and tactile, and the supernatural element threads through the tension in a way that feels earned rather than tacked on, turning paranoia into the real enemy long before anything else shows itself. If you need big set pieces or nonstop action, this small-scale descent might feel restrained, but if you like war stories that curdle into psychological horror, it’s a gripping watch.

Bunker (2023) is clearly aiming for a grim, claustrophobic WWI descent into paranoia, mixing trench-war misery with a supernatural “something in the dark” pressure cooker. The problem is the execution: it’s slow without being hypnotic, the dialogue often lands awkwardly, and the characters are too thinly sketched for the infighting and betrayals to feel earned.
