I'm Losing It (2018)

I’m Losing It takes a familiar rom-com setup and gives it a surprisingly human pulse: it’s less about “fixing” a body and more about what it feels like to be judged, dumped, and then stubbornly decide you’re worth the effort anyway. Set in Nizhny Novgorod, it has a lively, down-to-earth vibe, with comedy that comes from awkward truths and the messy ways people try to reinvent themselves rather than from cheap cruelty. Aleksandra Bortich makes Anya easy to root for—funny, impulsive, and vulnerable—while Evgeniy Kulik’s health-obsessed Kolya adds an odd-couple energy that keeps the movie buoyant even when it brushes up against real insecurities. It won’t be for everyone if you’re sensitive to stories that revolve around weight and appearance, but if you want a warm, brisk crowd-pleaser with heart under the jokes, this one earns its laughs.
