Explained

What people think about The Marine 6: Close Quarters

The Marine 6: Close Quarters is the kind of lean, no-nonsense action movie that knows exactly what it’s there to do: move fast, hit hard, and keep you locked in from the first abduction to the last standoff. Mike “The Miz” Mizanin feels fully settled into Jake Carter here, bringing a confident, bruiser charisma, and the pairing with Shawn Michaels’ Luke Trapper gives the film a buddy-soldier edge that plays well between the punches and gunfire. Director James Nunn keeps the pacing tight and the fights satisfyingly close and crunchy, favoring urgency over spectacle so the tension stays personal. It’s absolutely a rough-and-ready, R-rated ride with severe violence and intense scenes, but if you want a brisk rescue thriller that doesn’t overthink itself, this is one of the franchise’s most watchable entries.
