It plays like a conspiracy thriller with a pulpy, late-night-cable energy—shadowy agents, eerie symbols, and a steadily widening sense that reality has a few hidden trapdoors—anchored by committed turns from Bren Foster and a satisfyingly stern Randy Couture. What really sets it apart is its sincere, unusual interest in consciousness and meditation as more than window dressing, giving the film a strange, earnest edge amid the chases and secrets. If you need big-budget spectacle or airtight logic, it may not be your frequency, but if you like sci-fi that feels like a “wonderful surprise” and isn’t afraid to be a little weird, it’s an easy recommendation.

Alpha Code is aiming for a pulpy sci-fi conspiracy thriller with alien hybrids, shadowy government programs, and a spiritual “higher frequency” angle that wants to feel meaningful rather than just flashy. The problem is it often plays more like a low-budget mash-up of better stories, with stiff dialogue, uneven pacing, and performances that can’t quite sell the big ideas the script is reaching for. If you’re allergic to movies that lean into New Age meditation/telepathy as a central “this is real” component, or you need tight world-building and convincing tension, this will test your patience.
