Ludo is the kind of movie that reminds you why “entertainment” can be an art form: Anurag Basu spins four seemingly unrelated lives into a single, jittery heartbeat of coincidence, crime, and comedy, where every small decision ricochets into something bigger. It’s color-saturated and fleet-footed, with a mischievous tone that can pivot from laugh-out-loud absurdity to sudden tenderness without losing its rhythm, helped along by punchy music and a screenplay that treats chaos like choreography. The cast makes the madness feel human—Pankaj Tripathi, in particular, turns an eccentric criminal into a strangely delightful gravitational force, while Abhishek Bachchan brings unexpected warmth amid the mayhem. If you don’t enjoy hyperlinked storytelling or you’re sensitive to sexual themes and moderate profanity, it may not be your ride, but if you like your crime comedies inventive, stylish, and packed with lived-in performances, Ludo is a blast.

Ludo is clearly aiming for a hyper-stylized, “everything’s connected” crime-comedy where small choices ricochet into big consequences, and when it clicks, the chaos can be genuinely fun. The problem is it often feels like it’s trying too hard to juggle whimsy, darkness, and sentiment at the same time, so the tone can swing wildly and the pacing can drag as it hops between storylines. If you don’t enjoy crowded ensemble movies that rely on coincidence, heightened antics, and a slightly forced emotional payoff, this may test your patience—especially toward the climax. Still, there are solid performances (Pankaj Tripathi in particular) and a few clever, energetic stretches that make it worth it for viewers who like messy, madcap storytelling.
