Take Point (2018)

Take Point feels special because it takes a familiar “elite team on a mission” setup and tightens it into a pressure-cooker thriller where every corridor, every decision, and every gunshot seems to echo with geopolitical consequence. Set largely in a claustrophobic underground bunker, it delivers crisp, well-staged action that’s easy to follow and hard to shake, with technical polish that makes the chaos feel immediate rather than noisy. What elevates it is the astute political edge running beneath the adrenaline—never stopping the fun, but giving the tension real stakes beyond the body count. If you like your action smart, taut, and propulsive, this is a sharp, entertaining ride; if you’re allergic to militarized scenarios and brink-of-war anxiety, you may find it a little too close to the nerve.

Take Point is clearly aiming for a slick, claustrophobic “Black Hawk Down in a bunker” thriller, mixing election-day geopolitics with a ticking-clock hostage mission under the DMZ. The problem is the story often feels needlessly convoluted and strangely illogical, so instead of rising tension you may find yourself questioning basic motivations and plot turns. Add dialogue that can be stiff and a hyperactive, shaky camera style that some viewers find genuinely nauseating, and it becomes more exhausting than exciting.
