The problem is it starts promising mystery and then gradually swaps tension for explanation, with a second half that can feel like it’s stopping to read you the rulebook instead of letting the story land. If you’re allergic to slow pacing, plot convolution, and twists that get less satisfying the more they’re clarified, this will test your patience. Still, Abbey Lee and Ciarán Hinds bring a chilly commitment, and if you like stylish, talky thrillers with unsettling sexual and violent content, you may enjoy it as a mood piece more than a mind-blower.
