Incoming (2018)

Incoming is the kind of lean, pulpy sci‑fi action thriller that knows exactly what it wants to be: a locked-room siege movie set in the most claustrophobic room imaginable, the International Space Station. The premise is deliciously high-concept, and once the station turns into a weapon, the film leans into brisk momentum, crunchy fight choreography, and the welcome presence of Scott Adkins, who brings his usual athletic menace and commitment that elevates every scene he’s in. It’s scrappy and B-movie proud, more about propulsive tension and hand-to-hand mayhem than polished realism, which makes it a surprisingly easy watch if you’re in the mood for unapologetic genre fun. If you need prestige sci-fi or airtight logic, this won’t convert you—but if you want a quick, energetic ride with a standout action performer, it’s worth the boarding call.

Incoming is clearly aiming for a high-concept Die Hard-in-space thriller, with Scott Adkins positioned as the selling point and the ISS-prison idea doing the heavy lifting. The problem is the film rarely cashes that check: the plot lurches from beat to beat with thin logic, the dialogue feels painfully generic, and the performances and direction don’t add the urgency this setup desperately needs.
