Jason Raftopoulos’ debut has a lived-in Melbourne grit, but it’s never misery tourism; it’s anchored by Damian Hill’s raw, restless performance and the disarming naturalness of Ty Perham, whose father-son chemistry gives the film its bruised heartbeat. The cinematography finds unexpected beauty in suburban streets and fluorescent interiors, turning a frantic scramble into something intimate and emotionally precise.
