Teen Spirit is clearly trying to be a glossy, modern fairy tale about a timid girl finding her voice and navigating the compromises that come with chasing pop stardom. The problem is it rarely surprises you: the beats of the singing-competition journey and the “sellout vs integrity” tension land exactly where you expect, and the script doesn’t dig deep enough to make the emotional turns feel earned. If you’re allergic to familiar rise-to-fame formulas or want a sharper, more original take on the music-industry machine, this may feel like a stylish montage stretched into a movie.
