Robot on the Road (2015)

Robot on the Road is clearly aiming for raunchy, offbeat sci-fi comedy with a road-trip structure and some flashy animation flourishes. The problem is that the central “joke” leans heavily on voyeurism and sexual objectification, so what it’s trying to play as naughty and absurd can easily land as creepy, mean-spirited, and just plain unpleasant. If you’re not comfortable with a premise built around a robot’s predatory obsession with a woman’s body, this will feel less like comedy and more like an endurance test. The animation may be the one consistent bright spot, but it’s not enough to rescue a story and theme that many viewers find gross and pointless.
