Radius (2017)
Liam wakes from a car crash with no memory of who he is. As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. Liam's first assessment is that a virus is present in the air, but he soon discovers the horrible truth: anyone who comes within a 50-foot radius of him dies instantly.
What people think about Radius
Radius takes one of those instantly gripping “what if?” ideas and turns it into a lean, nerve-tight thriller that keeps tightening the screws the more you learn. With its amnesia-stricken lead and a trail of eerie, pale-eyed deaths, the film plays like a grounded sci-fi nightmare—quiet roads, small-town dread, and a mystery that unfolds through unsettling discoveries rather than flashy spectacle. Diego Klattenhoff anchors the tension with a haunted, human performance, and the story’s shifting understanding of who these people are and what’s happening makes it hard to stop watching. It’s not for viewers who need big-budget polish or who shy away from frequent profanity and abrupt violence, but if you like smart, concept-driven horror with a satisfying, perspective-altering payoff, Radius is a terrific ride.
Radius is clearly aiming for a tight, high-concept thriller: one man, one deadly rule, and a mystery that tries to turn a simple premise into a moral dilemma. The hook is genuinely strong and the early “what is happening?” tension works, but the film can’t always sell its big ideas—limited resources show on-screen, and some performances land a bit stiff, which undercuts the dread and emotional weight. If you need polished production, sharp dialogue, or horror that escalates with spectacle, this will likely feel like a clever short stretched to feature length. If you’re patient with indie rough edges and mainly want an eerie concept to chew on, it’s still an interesting, occasionally gripping watch.
