What people think about Naked
Naked is the kind of high-concept comedy that knows its best special effect is Marlon Wayans’ body—his rubbery, fearless physicality turns a simple time-loop setup into a sprinting, scrambling, laugh-first ride. The movie keeps resetting its morning-of-wedding chaos like a wind-up toy, letting each new attempt escalate the absurdity while still finding room for a surprisingly sincere undercurrent about commitment and growing up. Regina Hall brings grounded warmth that keeps the romance from feeling like an afterthought, and the whole thing plays with a breezy, slightly raunchy, Netflix-friendly vibe that doesn’t pretend to be more refined than it is. If you’re not into broad, occasionally crude humor you may bounce off it, but if you want an easy, energetic comedy that’s built to deliver gags at a relentless pace, this one earns its runtime.
Naked is clearly trying to mash up a Groundhog Day-style time loop with a frantic wedding-day farce built around Marlon Wayans doing what he does best: big reactions, physical comedy, and escalating chaos. The problem is the joke wears thin fast, and the writing leans hard on lowbrow, “how did I end up naked?” gags instead of clever twists, so the loops start to feel repetitive rather than inventive. If you’re hoping for sharp comedy, smarter rules to the time loop, or a rom-com with real emotional weight, this will likely feel predictable and a bit forced. That said, Wayans has energy, Regina Hall is reliably likable, and Dennis Haysbert adds some welcome deadpan authority—just don’t expect the premise to deliver much more than noisy, disposable silliness.
