Vada Chennai is clearly aiming for a gritty, lived-in North Chennai gangster saga, mixing street politics with a reluctant hero’s rise, and it often nails the atmosphere and tension. But if you’re allergic to slow-burn crime dramas, the latter half can feel like it’s circling the same beats, with pacing that sags just when you want the story to tighten up.
