Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is the kind of small, deceptively simple story that quietly tightens into a vice grip—taking one stolen gold chain and spinning it into a riveting, funny, unnervingly human study of power, pride, and survival. Dileesh Pothan stages much of it in and around a police station, and the film thrives on that lived-in realism: the petty delays, the ego games, the sudden bursts of tenderness and cruelty that feel observed rather than manufactured. Fahadh Faasil, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Nimisha Sajayan are so natural and specific that you stop watching “characters” and start watching people, and the script keeps shifting your sympathies without ever winking at you. If you need big twists or flashy action, it may feel too contained, but if you like thrillers built from behavior—and comedy that comes from the absurdity of real life—this one stays with you.

It’s brilliantly acted and feels lived-in, but don’t go in expecting a punchy thriller or big comedic set pieces—the tension comes from slow, procedural back-and-forth and moral discomfort rather than twists. The film can feel deliberately repetitive as it grinds through the standoff, and the police-station intensity (including a few rough moments) may be draining if you want something lighter.
