Flora is a circus elephant who can no longer perform her tricks. The night before she's scheduled to be euthanized, the circus owner's 14-year old daughter, Dawn, sneaks Flora from the circus. All that stands between them and the safety of the elephant preserve is two hundred kilometers of woods, one raging river, two elephant hunters and the fear of not making it.

Explained

What people think about Saving Flora

Saving Flora has the kind of big-hearted sincerity that’s getting rarer: a family adventure that treats compassion as an act of courage, not a cliché. With Jenna Ortega anchoring the film with grit and tenderness, it turns a simple rescue into a sweeping, back-to-nature journey that’s more about determination and empathy than spectacle, even as the woods, the river, and looming threats keep the tension lively. The vibe is uplifting and earnest, the kind of movie that leaves you rooting for decency and feeling a little lighter when it’s over. If you’re allergic to straightforward, message-forward storytelling, it may feel too pure for your tastes—but for families and anyone who likes their drama humane and hopeful, it’s an easy recommendation.
