Director Yuichi Fukuda stages the chaos with comic-book energy and a strangely earnest sense of momentum, so even when the jokes dive headfirst into outrageous underwear-based absurdity, the action still pops and the pacing keeps you riding the wave. Ryohei Suzuki commits like a real leading man in a very unserious world, which is exactly why the movie lands: it plays the heroics with conviction while gleefully torching good taste.
