Kóblic (2016)

Kóblic is clearly aiming for a tense, morally loaded character study set against Argentina’s Dirty War aftermath, with a haunted ex-Navy pilot trying to disappear into small-town life while corruption closes in. The problem is the story often plays out exactly how you expect, and the script can feel thin, with character turns that land more clumsy than insightful. It also keeps the camera close to the perpetrator’s perspective, which may feel unsettling in a way the film doesn’t fully interrogate, leaving some viewers frustrated by the missed depth.
