The problem is it plays very safe: the conflicts are predictable, the new characters feel more like plot helpers than people, and the “legendary” quest angle never gets as magical or gripping as it wants to be. If you’re not already invested in the Windstorm series or you’re hoping for sharper writing and real tension, this will likely feel like a pretty travelogue with horses rather than a must-see adventure.
