The real pleasure, though, is watching veterans like Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka-fai, and Chow Yun-Fat bring gravity and bite to a story that’s serious about authority but slyly playful about who gets to wield it. If you want a clean, simple cops-and-robbers ride, the internal politics may feel dense, but if you like your thrills sharpened by strategy and performance-driven intensity, this one moves like a loaded chess match.

The problem is it takes a while to get going, and once it does, the twists can feel more like paperwork than propulsion—self-serious, talky, and oddly procedural for something selling itself as a thriller.
