Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Michael Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

Explained

What people think about Morbius

Morbius is at its best when it leans into the moody, horror-tinged corners of the superhero genre, giving you a slick, nocturnal ride that feels more like a monster thriller than a quip machine. Daniel Espinosa keeps the pacing brisk and the visuals satisfyingly gothic, while Jared Leto plays the tragedy straight enough to sell the story’s central ache: a good man wrestling with a cure that comes with teeth. Matt Smith, meanwhile, brings a shot of wild, charismatic energy that makes the film perk up whenever he’s on screen, turning the rivalry into something enjoyably combustible. If you’re looking for a heavy, lore-dense comic epic you may find it lighter than expected, but if you want a stylish, pulpy, creature-feature spin on a Marvel antihero, it’s an easy, entertaining watch.
