Rajamouli stages action like a moving mural: bodies in motion, impossible feats, and visual imagination so bold it feels like you’re watching a legend come to life, complete with rousing music and crowd-pleasing spectacle. Even when it’s loud and larger-than-life, the film keeps pulling you forward with clear stakes and a propulsive, almost intoxicating energy as past and present collide. Fair warning: it’s unapologetically violent and maximalist, so if you prefer grounded realism, it may be too much—but if you want cinema as a full-bodied event, this one delivers.
