Curvature (2017)

Curvature has the kind of lean, high-concept hook that good sci-fi thrillers live on: grief colliding with a half-built time machine and a warning call that may be coming from the only person Helen can’t easily trust—herself. The film keeps its focus tight and its pace brisk, building suspense out of everyday spaces and anxious conversations, so the tension feels immediate even when the ideas get twisty. It’s more “late-night, edge-of-your-seat B-movie fun” than prestige sci-fi, and if you need spotless logic you may spot the seams—but if you’re in the mood for an intriguing, entertaining ride that keeps you guessing, it’s an easy one to press play on.

Curvature is clearly aiming for a tense, low-budget time-loop thriller about grief, paranoia, and the terrifying idea of getting a warning from your future self. The problem is it plays like a patchwork of better sci-fi concepts, with a script that muddies its own rules and a plot that feels more confusing than clever.
