The setup is genuinely creepy and the tall-grass maze makes for a few strong moments of disorientation, but the film stretches that premise too thin, circling the same beats until the tension starts to evaporate. As it piles on mythology and time-bendy rules, the tone gets wobbly and the dialogue can feel like it’s stalling for the next shock rather than building character.
