All Saints (2017)

All Saints feels special because it takes a familiar “church movie” setup and turns it into something genuinely human: a true story about unlikely community, practical compassion, and the hard work behind hope. It’s warm without being syrupy, funny in the way real life is funny, and emotionally grounded enough that the uplift comes from earned small victories rather than speeches. The film’s best trick is its authenticity—strong performances and a lived-in tone keep the faith element inviting instead of pushy, so even viewers who don’t share the beliefs can connect to the decency on display. If you’re allergic to inspirational dramas in general, it may still feel a bit tidy around the edges, but for most people it’s the kind of heartfelt, quietly rousing watch that leaves you lighter than you started.
