Storks (2016)

Storks is the kind of animated comedy that wins you over with sheer momentum: it’s bright, brisk, and packed with the sort of visual inventiveness that keeps both kids and adults laughing for different reasons. The premise—storks swapped baby delivery for e-commerce—sets up a delightfully modern, madcap ride, and the film rides that idea with sharp wit, colorful animation, and a constant sense of playful escalation. Andy Samberg and Katie Crown give the story a warm, bickering-buddy energy that’s genuinely charming, while the movie sneaks in a surprisingly sincere heartbeat about family and belonging without slowing down to preach. If you prefer quieter, more contemplative animation it may feel a bit hyper, but if you want a fast, funny, good-natured adventure that actually sticks the landing, this one delivers.

Storks is trying to mash up a sweet “found family” story with a modern corporate satire and a nonstop road-trip adventure, and you can feel the filmmakers aiming for big laughs and bigger heart. The problem is it’s so hyperactive and scattershot that the plot often feels like it’s sprinting past its own emotions, with jokes and set pieces piled on faster than they can land. If you like calmer, character-driven family animation or want a story with clean motivation and a strong theme, this one may feel noisy, generic, and oddly thin beneath the sugar rush. Still, the animation is bright, the baby-and-wolves bits are cute, and there are enough quick gags to keep younger kids entertained even when the movie itself can’t sit still.
