Love Guide for Dumpees takes a premise that could’ve been cheap and turns it into something surprisingly tender: a rom-com about two newly dumped people trying to “game” their way past heartbreak, only to discover feelings don’t follow rules. It has that distinctly Korean blend of frankness and sweetness, where awkward comedy and late-night vulnerability sit in the same breath, and the chemistry between Yoon Kye-sang and Han Yeri makes even their messiest choices feel human rather than cartoonish. The film’s real pleasure is watching two guarded adults negotiate intimacy with humor as their supposed no-strings pact starts to tug at deeper needs, all without leaning on grand melodrama. If you prefer squeaky-clean romances, the setup may feel a bit too candid, but if you like your love stories a little bruised, funny, and honest, this one sneaks up on you in the best way.
