On a quiet suburban street tucked within a 'safe neighborhood', a babysitter must defend a twelve-year-old boy from strangers breaking into the house, only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.

Explained

What people think about Better Watch Out

Better Watch Out takes the familiar “babysitter-in-danger” setup and turns it into a wickedly clever Christmas nightmare, all wrapped in the glossy calm of a too-perfect suburb. Chris Peckover directs with a mischievous confidence, letting the movie’s humor lull you into comfort before the tension tightens and the story starts zigging where you expect it to zag. Olivia DeJonge is terrific as the babysitter trying to keep control of a situation that keeps slipping into stranger, darker territory, and the young cast sells every escalating beat with unnerving conviction. Fair warning: it’s meaner and more vicious than its holiday sheen suggests, but if you like your horror with sharp laughs, nasty surprises, and genuine “I did not see that coming” energy, this one’s a blast.
