It wraps its ghost story in a moody, creeping atmosphere, letting implied scares and quiet dread do the heavy lifting instead of cheap jolts, and that restraint makes the unsettling moments land harder. Celia Williams anchors the film with a grounded, wounded intensity, so even the supernatural turns feel emotionally earned rather than merely spooky. If you want relentless gore or nonstop jump scares, this may feel too measured—but if you like horror that lingers in your mind and respects the eerie mysteries of spiritualism, it’s an easy recommendation.

Inner Ghosts clearly wants to fuse paranormal horror with a brain-science angle, using grief and memory as the emotional engine, and that’s a genuinely intriguing goal. The problem is the execution: the pacing can feel sluggish and uneven, and when it finally pushes toward payoff, the last act often slides into familiar horror beats and muddled storytelling rather than a satisfying escalation. There are moments of atmosphere and a couple of interesting ideas about communicating with the dead, but they’re not always pulled together into a coherent whole. Also worth flagging: the finale reportedly leans hard on intense strobe lighting, which isn’t just annoying—it can be a real risk for viewers sensitive to flashing lights.
