Bis (2015)

20151h 38mComedy

Éric and Patrice have been friends since high school. Over the years, they have both taken very different paths: Éric has become a hedonist, has a string of girlfriends and is always on the look out for a new one; Patrice has become a monogamous father with a very ordered life. After a drunken evening, the two childhood friends find themselves cast back into 1986, when they were 17 years old. This return to the past is a dream opportunity to try to change the path their lives will take. What will they do with this second chance?

Explained

What people think about Bis

Bis is the kind of time-travel comedy that doesn’t pretend to reinvent the wheel—it just spins it with enough charm and nostalgia to make you want to hop on. Dropping two middle-aged friends back into their awkward, exhilarating teenage years, it finds easy laughs in the contrast between who they were, who they became, and who they wish they’d been, all wrapped in a warmly affectionate bromance. Kad Merad and Franck Dubosc carry the film with lived-in chemistry, selling both the gags and the bittersweet undertow that comes with second chances. If you’re looking for a light, watchable escape with an ’80s vibe and a generous heart, this delivers—though if you want razor-sharp satire or big sci-fi ideas, it’s more comfort food than fireworks.
