Tragedy Girls is a wickedly clever horror-comedy that takes the slasher formula, plugs it into the dopamine loop of likes and follows, and watches the whole thing spark like a live wire. Tyler MacIntyre keeps the pace snappy and the tone deliciously mean, balancing laugh-out-loud satire with bursts of genuinely gnarly, practical-feeling gore that horror fans will savor. Brianna Hildebrand and Alexandra Shipp are the secret weapon here: they play their friendship like a twisted buddy movie, so charismatic and committed you almost hate how fun it is to watch them wreak havoc. It’s not for the squeamish or anyone allergic to pitch-black humor, but if you can handle sharp teeth under a glossy teen-movie sheen, this one feels like a cult classic that knows exactly what it’s doing.

Tragedy Girls is aiming for a sharp, social-media-era satire wrapped in a candy-colored slasher comedy, and it does commit to that “mean girls meet murder” concept with energy.
