Guillermo Pfening gives a beautifully unshowy performance as Nico, a man who was somebody back home and becomes nearly invisible here, and Julia Solomonoff’s restrained direction lets the humor, loneliness, and small indignities land with real emotional intelligence. The film’s vibe is intimate and observational—more about glances, routines, and the stories we tell to survive than big plot fireworks—yet it stays engrossing because it understands how pride and vulnerability can share the same room.
