Explained

What people think about Solo: A Star Wars Story

Solo: A Star Wars Story works best when it stops trying to be a legend and simply becomes a rollicking space-caper, full of scrappy charm, narrow escapes, and the kind of lived-in grit that made the galaxy feel real in the first place. Alden Ehrenreich doesn’t imitate Harrison Ford so much as find the hunger and swagger underneath, and the movie wisely surrounds him with a playful, charismatic ensemble that keeps the banter humming and the momentum high. Ron Howard delivers set pieces that move like a good heist film—clean, propulsive, and often funny—while still giving the Falcon, Chewie, and the underworld corners of Star Wars their due. If you want mythic destiny and operatic gravitas, this may feel lighter than the main saga, but if you’re in the mood for a fast, entertaining adventure with personality to spare, it’s an easy ride to say yes to.
