Two takes

Will you love Clash of the Thundermans? Here are both stories.

Amaree writes a spoiler-free case for and against every movie it can predict. Your algorithm decides which one applies to you.

Why you might love it

Clash of the Thundermans has that rare family-movie spark: it treats superpowers like a metaphor for growing up, then wraps it in bright, punchy action and sitcom-sharp banter that never forgets to have fun. Watching the Thundermans fracture into two opposing sides gives the film an energetic, mischievous tension—more “family road-trip gone off the rails” than doom-and-gloom superhero angst—while still letting the emotions land. Maya Le Clark brings real heart to Chloe’s out-of-control new ability, and the returning chemistry between Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo keeps the rivalry-and-love dynamic crackling. If you want a serious, lore-heavy comic-book epic, this isn’t it, but if you’re on the fence and craving a fast, funny, feel-good super-family showdown, it’s an easy yes.

Why you might not

Clash of the Thundermans is clearly aiming for a breezy, kid-friendly superhero “family vs. family” romp, with enough action and jokes to keep longtime fans smiling. But don’t expect deep sci-fi worldbuilding or a truly weighty emotional fallout from the split—this plays like an extended TV episode where big conflicts are kept safe, tidy, and very on-brand. The humor and stakes skew younger, so if you’re not already invested in these characters, the tone may feel a bit loud and lightweight rather than genuinely thrilling. That said, the cast’s familiarity and the simple, fast-moving premise make it an easy watch for families and Thundermans loyalists who just want comfort-food superpowers and banter.
