Michael Johnston makes Bear more than a horror-movie fool—he’s earnest enough that you understand the temptation, which makes every new twist of the screw hit harder. If you like your horror with bite, momentum, and a wicked streak of fun, this one delivers; if you’re looking for slow, meditative scares, it may feel too gleefully intense.
