Explained

What people think about Power Rangers

Power Rangers (2017) works best when it remembers that saving the world is secondary to figuring out how to be a person, and that’s what makes it surprisingly winning: it treats its teens like real, bruised kids before it ever asks them to pose like heroes. Dean Israelite gives the film a grounded, modern vibe—part coming-of-age hangout, part glossy sci-fi spectacle—so when the action finally kicks into high gear, it feels earned rather than automatic. The young cast is genuinely likable (RJ Cyler in particular brings heart and comic timing), and the movie’s best superpower is the way friendship slowly becomes a choice instead of a slogan. If you want wall-to-wall suit action or a pure nostalgia replay, the slower build may test your patience, but if you’re open to a reboot with warmth, humor, and a bit of teenage messiness, it’s an easy crowd-pleaser.
