Mythica: The Necromancer is the kind of scrappy, sincere fantasy adventure that reminds you why a handful of friends, a few spell effects, and a good old-fashioned quest can still feel like magic. It leans into a tabletop-RPG vibe—banter at the tavern, uneasy alliances, and a heroine whose growing power comes with a real moral tremor—while keeping the pace brisk with skirmishes, creepy creatures, and a looming villain who feels properly mythic. Melanie Stone gives Marek an earnest, determined center, and the camaraderie among the would-be heroes is warm enough to make the danger matter. If you’re craving big-budget spectacle, this isn’t that, but if you want a spirited, world-building fantasy chapter with heart, momentum, and just enough darkness at the edges, it’s an easy yes.

Mythica: The Necromancer is clearly trying to be a scrappy, old-school fantasy quest with a party of misfit heroes, rising stakes, and a “will she fall to darkness?” arc for Marek. The problem is it often feels like a mid-season episode rather than a satisfying movie: the pacing is choppy, the dialogue can be stiff, and the action and creature effects look more enthusiastic than convincing.
