Incredibles 2 (2018)
Elastigirl springs into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet – taking care of the problems of his three children.
What people think about Incredibles 2
What makes Incredibles 2 special is how effortlessly it balances superhero spectacle with the wonderfully human chaos of family life, turning both into pure cinematic momentum. Brad Bird delivers action sequences that are crisply staged, visually inventive, and so cleanly animated they feel like choreography—then punctuates them with humor that lands for kids and adults without ever winking too hard. The vibe is bright, fast, and playful, but there’s real warmth underneath as Elastigirl shines in the spotlight and Mr. Incredible wrestles with an “everyday” challenge that’s somehow more daunting than any villain. It may not hit quite the same lightning-in-a-bottle highs as the original for everyone, but as a sequel it’s smart, hilarious, and flat-out fun to watch.
Incredibles 2 is clearly trying to juggle two crowd-pleasers at once: a slick superhero comeback for Elastigirl and a domestic comedy about Mr. Incredible surviving parenthood. The problem is that the story often feels like it’s running on autopilot—familiar beats, a villain that doesn’t leave much of a mark, and themes delivered a bit louder than they need to be. If you’re hoping for the same emotional punch and inventive leap forward that made the first film special, this sequel may feel more like a polished reprise than a true evolution. Still, the animation is top-tier, the action is energetic, and the family banter can be genuinely fun if you’re mainly here to spend time with these characters again.
